DAYTONA BEACH — Gas prices dipped again overnight here as the steady decline now enters its eighth consecutive week.
In Daytona Beach on Monday, the average price for regular gasoline was $3.72 a gallon, down $1.17 from the record $4.89 price set on June 13, according to AAA Auto Club, which counts all of Volusia and Flagler counties as part of the metropolitan statistical area.
“Falling oil prices and drooping gasoline demand has paved the way for the recent pump price plunge,” said Mark Jenkins, a Tampa-based spokesman for AAA in his weekly fuel price report on Monday. “The downturn should continue this week, after another round of big losses in both oil and gasoline futures markets.”
