Kate Hudson has been Hollywood’s lowkey It Girl for what seems like ages. The gorgeous daughter of Goldie Hawn, born in April 1979, hit it out of the park with one of her first performances in 2000’s Almost Famous, earning a Best Supporting Actress nod playing the OG fangirl of a rock band. Since then, Kate earned a legion of fans with such romantic comedies as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and Bride Wars.
The Fabletics founder has also won over a legion of romantic admirers. Kate has been married once and is currently engaged! Let’s meet her first hubby and the one next in line, below!
Chris Robinson
Kate was hot off her Oscar-nominated performance in Almost Famous when she met the tall, dark and handsome lead singer of the Black Crowes, Chris Robinson, at a party in New York in May 2000, per E!. After a brief courtship, they moved in together and ended up getting hitched on New Year’s Eve of that year in a shamanistic ceremony in Colorado.
At the 2001 Golden Globes, while accepting her gong for Almost Famous, Kate thanked Chris. “My husband, Chris Robinson. You inspire me every day,” she said at the time. Chris shared the love right back, as he told People, “I’m in such a better place as a husband, as a part of a family and a musician.” He even penned a song for her called “Katie Dear.”
The couple would go on to welcome son Ryder in January 2004. “Born on a full moon in cancer, this young man has my whole heart,” Kate gushed on her Instagram on Jan. 7, 2023 to share an incredible tribute for Ryder’s 19th birthday. “Hilarious, loving, kind, loyal, sensitive. Ryder my sweet son, I love celebrating the day you were born. Your birth changed all of our lives forever and has brought so much joy and laughter daily.”
Kate and Chris would separate in August 2006, amid rumors of marital strife. Chris filed for divorce in November of that year, citing irreconcilable differences. Their divorce was finalized on Oct. 25, 2007. Chris went on to marry again in 2009 and welcomed a daughter. The musician keeps his personal life rather private but does update fans on his concert touring with his Instagram. The singer now leads the band called the Chris Robinson Brotherhood, as the Black Crowes broke up in 2015.
Danny Fujikawa
After Chris, Kate would go on to have a quite a mixed bag of suitors! From Owen Wilson to Alex Rodriguez, the stunning star dated some high-profile celebs, until she landed on an old friend! Kate started a romance with Danny Fujikawa in December 2016 after knowing him for 15 years!
“The first time I met Danny I was 23 and enormously pregnant with Ryder. His step sisters are my best friends @sarafoster @erinfoster and so it goes we have been in the same circle for over a decade!” Kate wrote in 2017 via Instagram. “A year ago today Danny took me on a hike and what I thought was just a hike with a family friend turned very quickly into an unexpected first date. No moves were made on this first date. In fact, it took months for him to make a first move! And as a kiss on this bridge would have been nice, the kiss a year later was so much sweeter.”
The musician/producer, who was the lead singer of the band Chiefs, welcomed daughter Rani Rose with Kate on October 2, 2018. He gushed about the two lovely ladies in his life on his Instagram for Valentine’s Day. Along with Ryder and Rani, Kate also shares son Bingham, born July 2011, with her ex-fiance Matthew Bellamy, the British lead singer of Muse.
Three years after Kate and Danny welcomed Rani, they announced their engagement. Alongside a sweet snap of the couple embracing and Kate showing off her gigantic sparkler via Instagram in September 2021, the actress wrote, “Let’s go!” And rest assured, HollywoodLife will keep you posted when the couple will be “going” to the altar!
